Born in Neenah, Wisconsin, with unilateral microtia of the left ear, Peter began his musical studies on piano at age 5, performing various classical piano works until age 12. L
Later, he began undergraduate studies in the Spring of 2021 after participating in various vocal ensembles and musical events throughout high school. He began studying classical guitar in the Fall of 2021 under the tutelage of Dr. Christopher Cramer, a classical guitarist who graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. In the Fall of 2022, Peter changed his major from Chemistry to Music and began seriously pursuing formal musical study.
In the Spring of 2024, Peter studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain, where he studied and taught other pupils under the guidance of classical guitarist Christopher Avilez, an international competition winner and professional guitar instructor. During this time, he gained significant pedagogical experience while continuing to develop as a performer. After only three years of classical guitar study, Peter participated in his first international competition, the XXIV Concurso Internacional de Guitarra Comarca El Condado.
Peter graduated from Ripon College in the Fall of 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a minor in Environmental Studies. After auditioning for and being accepted into master’s programs at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, Peter chose to continue his studies in Baltimore, Maryland. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance and Pedagogy in the studio of Franco Platino, a internationally renowned professor and performer of classical guitar.
Peter currently performs and teaches across a wide range of styles, including classical, jazz, and popular music, with influences from blues, rock, and country, and works with students of varying backgrounds and musical interests. He performs classical and chamber repertoire on a 2023 Santiago De Cecilia double-top guitar and uses a Córdoba Orchestra CE Cutaway for jazz, popular, and contemporary musical settings.
